Helpful Hint
This month's hint comes from Celia Carnes, Banner Coordinator for
Pleasant Valley Baptist Church in Liberty, Missouri. When she gets
fusible web stuck to her iron, she runs the iron (hot) over a sheet of
fabric softener (such as Bounce) and then runs the iron over a clean
cloth. The sticky web comes right off. I tried it and it does work.
It is an economical and good-smelling alternative to commercial iron
cleaning products. It also seemed to make my iron glide more easily
across the fabric.
Celia, along with three other Banner Committee members, has made
twelve banners in the past three years. She says the blessings they
have received have far surpassed what they could ever have imagined.
They have been able to help and inspire other congregations to start
banner ministries.
We feel that God wants us to share our ideas and inspiration to
glorify His Precious Name! That is why we started the newsletter.

Book Corner
This month's selection is Saints, Signs & Symbols by W. Ellwood Post,

Through the centuries, the Church has used symbols to represent God,saints, concepts, and important events. This comprehensive collection
of illustrations identifies and explains a variety of emblems
according to fact or legend, offering the information needed to fully

There is a section on the use of color in worship that might be of
particular interest to banner ministries.
See our book section for more great books.
